A few thoughts on El Clásico

THE NEGATIVES:
-The diving. OMG, stop it, all of you.
-The whining. OMG, stop it, all of you.
-Dani Alves. The theatrics after Pepe's foul were embarrassing.
-Busquets. He's regressing to his 2009 form. Cut the crap, kid. Every time Busi falls to the ground clutching his face, a Barça fan dies of embarrassment.
-Pepe's red card. It wasn't a red, I think. More like a yellow.
-Pinto. Now, *this* was a well-deserved red. Someone get the man some Valium.
-Mou's presser. Refs are human and make mistakes. Last year those mistakes played in your favour, other times they play in Barça's favour. But when you start spouting off conspiracy theories, you lose all credibility.
-Mou's tactics. Playing at home, against a makeshit defence... and three DMs? No striker? Parking the bus to get a 0-0? Come on, there are tactis and tactics...
-Worried about La Roja. Pretty worried.
-I felt like a mother whose kid throws a tantrum: I swear he isn't like this at home!. To all neutral fans who watched this, I'm sorry.
THE POSITIVES:
-We won!
-Ibi Afellay was awesome! Kid was a great buy, needs to play more.
-Messi... just, Messi.
-Pep apparently got all the rage out of his system yesterday and kept quiet in the presser. Good.
-Puyol is back! As great as ever!
-With Puyol back, Piqué is back too.
-VV was amazing.
-Masche is pretty good too.
In any case... VISCA EL BARÇA!

Date: 2011-04-27 11:17 pm (UTC)I just want to emphasize that a team that's willing to settle for a goal-less home draw, and refuses to play the ball, and does all sort of really dirty (and not dirty in a slash-friendly way, but unpleasantly dirty) things, and keeps crying and complaining, will NEVER deserve to be a winner. What an ugly, mediocre sport football would be if everyone played like Madrid have the whole season...

Date: 2011-04-28 07:50 am (UTC)I'm not sure about Pepe's red mostly because I was cringeing with embarrassment at Dani making such a scandal of it, but it could've gone both ways. Even if it had been only a yellow, chances are Pepe would've got himself sent off anyway...
And I agree with you on Madrid's tactics. Unfortunately, football success doesn't always go to the 'deserving'...
